The term Open Educational Resources or OERs refers to educational material in the public domain. Open licences specify how this material is to be used.
Five Rs are often used when we refer to OERS
1. Reuse: Content can be reused in its original and unaltered format
2. Retain: Content can be retained for reference
3. Revise: Content can be modified to suit one's specific needs
4. Remix: Content can be adapted by including other similar content to create new content
5. Redistribute: Content can be shared with others in original or altered format
It is important to understand the meaning of different licenses used in the context of OERs.

My own journey in OERs started in 2010 when I completed an online course with wikieducator. Since then I have regularly added content to my page . This was recognised by wikieducator as the Best User Page in September 2010. In 2012, the NCERT recognised this as an innovative practice in Teacher Education.
