Lesson Plans for Online Learning

We can use digital tools in various ways.
(i)To support face to face learning: Traditional classroom teaching learning can be supported by digital tools such as videos, online polls, interactive presentations (eg using mentimeter) , live quizzes (eg Kahoot). In all these cases the teacher and the students are face to face and use of digital tools enhances the lesson and breaks class monotony.

(ii) Flipped Class Approach: In flipped class the teacher gives some material for self directed learning or out of class learning. It could be in form of videos, pdfs, webquests.. the students go through this material at home. When in class and face to face with peers and teacher, they use the time to build on what they learned at home. Class time can be utilised for queries, co operative work, group discussion and consolidating what is already learned during out of class learning. Such an approach is time saving and encourages constructivist learning.

(iii) Online learning: This approach is used when students and teacher do not meet face to face. The lockdown period sees an increase in the use of this type of learning.
